Perry picks up county award

Sports stars from Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth were among the winners at the eighth annual Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Sports Awards ceremony.

Among those recognised were Warwick Paralympian Tommy Godwin, who picked up the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Sportswoman of the Year, Kenilworth squash star Sarah-Jane Perry.

She said: “It’s a great feeling to win this award, especially as the two other girls nominated - Kelly Sibley and Naomi Folkard are both Olympians.
