Two events in Cubbington raised £2,250 for the village church St Mary’s, prompting parish councillor David Saul to praise all those involved for their “tremendous Christian efforts”.

The church’s summer fair on Saturday involved traditional games and performances by Cubbington Silver Band, while a high tea on Sunday was so popular there have been calls for it to be an annual event. Cllr Saul said: “I felt priveleged and humbled to be playing a small part with so many wonderful people.”
