Police dog Pyro makes use of his fangs as men make an ill-fated attempt to escape arrest in Rugby

Police dog Pyro had to make use of his fangs in the early hours of this morning when a man ran through woodland and hid in bushes in an attempt to evade arrest.
Officers spotted three men, aged 21,22 and 26 and from Walsall, behaving suspiciously around HGVs near Rugby in the early hours of this morning, November 24.

Hide AdPolice detained and arrested one man on the scene while two made off.
Traffic officers joined forces with Rugby patrol officers and police dog Pyro and his handler to end the escape attempt.
The two men ran through woodland before hiding in bushes in the grounds of a garden centre.
Pyro's keen nose soon tracked them down but one of the men decided to try to further decline the offer of a cell - resulting in Pyro deploying his fangs.

Hide AdAll three men were arrested on suspicion of theft of fuel from HGVs and they remain in custody while enquiries continue.
Members of the public have taken to social media to praise PD Pyro and his handlers, with one writing, "Go on Pyro, you beauty!"
Another expressed their hope that Pyro was given plenty of treats.
