Appeal for witnesses launched after man dies in Warwick crash

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a man died following a crash in Warwick.
Officers were called at around 7.20am this morning (Friday January 22) to a report of a van colliding with a wall on Coventry Road.
West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended.

Hide AdThe driver of the Renault Master van, a man in his late 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.
Road closures were in place and have since been removed.
A spokesperson from the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We received a 999 call reporting an RTC involving a van and a wall at 7.18am this morning on Coventry Road, Warwick.
"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a critical care paramedic from The Air Ambulance Service attended the scene and arrived to find the driver, a man, in cardiac arrest.
"Crews worked as a team to administer advanced life support on scene but sadly, despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead on scene a short time later.

Hide AdPC Jamie Blood from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Warwickshire Police said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family, who are currently being supported by specialist officers.
“We’re appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to please come forward.
“Anyone with any information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 45 of January 22.”
