Football stars of the future were treated to a chippy lunch at their annual Skillstars event in Long Lawford.

Lawford Chippy’s Aman Rai and business partner Sagan Sandhu showed community spirit by feeding teams at Lawford Utd FC competition day last week.

Coach Simon Ward, who is deputy mayor of Rugby, said: “It’s a lot of fun for all the children with ten different football-themed challenges and the one occasion in the year where everyone is competing against each other as opposed to working as a team.

They showed amazing generosity and community spirit when they provided free food for all the children from Lawford United Football Club. Aman and Sagan kindly delivered the food pitch-side to the delight of the 5-10 year olds.

"Recently moving to the village, they’ve quickly settled and have made a big impact with their kindness, attentive service and wonderful fresh food. From all at LUFC, thanks guys for feeding the kids and making their day.

Aman, of Lawford Chippy, said: “It’s our Sikh culture to serve food to everyone which makes us happy.

"Seeing children’s faces smile makes us feel proud to support our local community.”
